Joanne Black

Joanne Black has been doing makeup professionally for the past 25 years; yet has been involved with fashion and creativity practically her whole life.  Educated in Fashion design, textiles and art history, Joanne made the switch to makeup after realizing that this was where she really wanted to use her artistic skills.  Working in a various capacities such as television, runway, video and photography, Joanne has created looks that range from the most natural beauty looks to fantastical body painting.

Five years as a MAC Pro Artist gave Joanne the opportunity to travel to the fashion capitals of the world to work backstage with some of the most admired designers such as Vivienne Westwood and Alexander McQueen.  This position also took her to international destinations on media tours.  In Canada, Joanne has appeared on Cityline, Breakfast Television,  CTV and MTV.

Joanne and her work have been featured in publications such as Greek Vogue, Avenue,Elle Canada and Flare, as well as making up personalities as Charlize Theron and Minnie Driver.

 

Now based in Calgary, Joanne is available for fashion/editorial, runway and commercial work as well as weddings. She will also do session hair styling upon request.
